Our Society

The inaugural meeting of the Farnsfield Local History Society was held on the 8th May 2002.  After a well attended meeting of local residents, it was decided that there was enough interest in the village to form a society.

To date we have about 55 members with an average of 40 members who attend our meetings. This includes visitors who are always welcome at a charge of £3 payable on the door.

Membership fee is £15.00 for the year which runs from March to February and can be paid at any of our meetings.

Meetings are held at 7.30-9.00 in the evening on the second Wednesday of the month in the lower hall in the Village Centre on New Hill which is at the heart of the village.  We offer several outings to places of interest throughout the Spring and Summer months. We also hold a Summer Social evening in July. August is a month of rest and our Autumn programme starts in September. The December meeting is the annual Christmas Meal. See our calendar of events.

The newsletter is now available online here

The AGM is held at our March meeting.
